You may have a point! :)

Obviously, one of the things I strive for is balance in the reporting of the information I find. That means mentioning the negative side effects as well as the positive benefits. However, I find that most news reports tend to emphasize one and totally exclude the other.

I agree the news media is taking things out of context but perhaps you are also reading too much into it?

If you read the actual study (link is in the post), they mention other sources of resveratrol. However, these don't have the "mass appeal" that red wine does. The media, of course, picked the source that sells the most papers. The study also mentions tumors in the liver, something that was completely glossed over by the press.

It's unbalanced reporting like this that helps create so much confusion about health and fitness. Hopefully, my post added a little common sense.

Well...i really adore the studies but i wonder how it could be. If we look at the situation now days, Most of them who can live until 90 ++ years they are avoiding alcohol. Maybe it is acceptable if red wine does not contains alcohol. But is it possible? Maybe possible but i don't think so.

I'm always suspicious of claims like this. There's always a side effect that tends to cancel out whatever benefit you might get.
