You also have to keep in mind the reason some people go camping. I do it in order to get away from from the noise and humdrum of the city. So it really aggravates me when the people in the next campsite bring that same noise and humdrum with them. But that's just me.

I talked with a friend of mine that has kids in the pre-to-mid-teen age. For him, camping in a spot next to an "active" group with kids the same age is the only way to camp. When that happens, both groups tend to intermingle, they all make new friends, and he has a blast.

Again, we all tend to "head to the woods" for different reasons. Unfortunately, most campsites aren't segregated with "quiet aloof bookworms" to the left and "acid rock groupies" to the right.

We'll we have to admit that we people are becoming so insensitive already... all we think of is our self. It not bad to have fun and enjoy but we should be reminded of our environment. Are the people around us happy to or unhappy already because of us? I'm not saying that we have to please everybody and limit our fun but everything has a place right?

Yeah, it is kind of whiney -- but I wrote it as a counterpoint piece to "10 Reasons to Love Camping."

Still, you bring up a good point: "most people only are aware of themselves." That's usually true but it's not the way I was brought up. I was taught to always be considerate of other people. Unfortunately, that's not taught anymore. That's the point I was trying to make.

This is the most negative, whiney article I've ever read. Way to encourage people to get outdoors by your complaining. No matter what you write most people only are aware of themselves. Accept it and either enjoy life or don't. Just don't make us read it.
